Rose Water
After reviewing some articles online and doing my own personal research on Rose Water...
nothing but goodness comes out of this remarkable gift from nature.
Here are some Pros
ANTI-AGING
- With a pH level of 5.5, rose water helps balance out the disruption by bringing your skin's pH level back to normal. Normal pH level of our skin falls in between 4.5 - 6.2, making it slightly acidic (a good level of acidity). What we don't want is your skin to be neither too alkaline nor too acidic. Rose water will tone the skin and help restore the pH level of your skin.
- Has Anti-Oxidant properties that help strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissue.
- Removes dead skin cells
- It is a great moisturizer for your skin. Hydrates and revitalizes, it helps nourish your skin and enhance its quality.
- Gets rid of dark circles and puffiness around the eyes.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
- Anti-Bacterial properties help calm and sooth redness, pimple and scars.
- Anti-Inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, dermatitis and eczema.
- Cooling properties help soothe and heal sunburn; treat heat from rash.
- Great for hair! Treat mild scalp inflammation and get rid of dandruff.
- Great for eyes! Protects from redness caused by dust, pollutant; helps soothe and heal from inflammation of the eye caused by harmful ingredients of makeup and beauty products.
- Great for after waxing! Help soothe the skin from waxing.
HOW TO USE ROSE WATER
FACE
- No Makeup ----- simply soak cotton pad with rose water and gently wipe face to cleanse. Not only this step is cleansing your face, but it is also toning your face at the same time, balancing the pH level. Then, moisturize.
- With Makeup ----- soak cotton pads (1 or 2 pads) with rose water and gently wipe your face removing excess makeup. Do not worry if you're not wiping off the makeup completely, so do not over-wipe. Use more cotton pads with rose water if necessary. Next, wash your face using your regular facial cleanser. Dry face with towel. Spray your face entirely with rose water to balance out the pH level of your face. Then, moisturize.
- Soak 2 cotton balls with rose water and place one over each eye for 15 minutes.
- Some sites also recommend to use rose water as eye drops, apparently it is safe to use as so. However, I have not tried this myself so I cannot tell you if this helps. Please do your own research and consult a professional should you decide to use it as an eye drop.
- I like to keep a bottle of rose water on my bathroom counter to soak cotton pads for my daily skincare routine.
- I also like to fill up my mist bottle with rose water to keep it handy on my bathroom counter and another one in my fridge! Whenever I feel like spritzing my face with some cold chilled rose water, I can do so. Helps hydrate my skin throughout the day, feeling refreshed. Great for over the makeup. The chilled rose water mist after cleansing your face will help tighten up and close up the pores.
- Don't be shy to spray your face several times a day with rose water! I have come to love doing this and have realized it is "never too much misting"!
WARNING!
And yes! All great things must always come with at least one warning!
But wait! On a good note, it is NOT related to the actual rose water....but sadly to certain manufacturer of the rose water.
