Asian Eye Makeup: Angular? or Round? Which one is you?

Angular = Edgy / Sultry / Sexy / Glamour / Mysterious

Round = Soft / Cute / Feminine / Playful / Shy

♥︎Which one do you like?♥︎

Asian Eyes

One thing is for sure...is that you cannot do Caucasian eye makeup on an asian.
We do not have double lined lids / crease, therefore, contouring as you would do on creases does not work on our eyes.

What works best is smokey / blending from bottom to top
And smokey doesn't necessary mean dark colours.  It can be soft pastels, bright colours as much as contouring neutral tones.  The key thing is to blend.  Blend from the lash line towards the top, concentrating on the outer edge of the eyes.  Blend, blend and blend.  Blending is so important because our lids are exposed, meaning they do not hide inside the crease once the eyes are opened. :)

Once you got that right, then playing with the shape is all up to you and how you feel!

Wanna do round shaped smokey?

or

Wanna rock the angular shape?

Depending on the shape, it can play up your style and your mood.

♥︎Have fun!♥︎

♥︎♥︎♥︎

From my ipsy glam bag I got this month, I used this penny coloured loose eyeshadow.  The info and the link is in my previous blog post.

The colour is....BAM!
Straight on, no joke!  It is pigmented like you wouldn't believe!
Straight from the pot to the brush to the lids, the colour is pure, intense and solid.
Love the colour and the intensity!

My brows are filled using this brow pencil by Marcelle.  The colour is a nice ashy brown.  It's like a waxy crayon so it repels water and lasts longer.

For my lashes, I added falsies from Ardell.  It's their Edgy collection with accented edges.

The falsies are topped with black mascara from Makeup Forever.

Eye Makeup: Happy Saint-Patrick's Day!

🍀

Saint-Patrick's Day inspired eye makeup

🍀

I used this pure intense green of all greens by Inglot.
Not sure what the colour is called...no indication of its name on the back.
Very true to its pigment when applied on skin.  I do love Inglot eyeshadows, though they do fall onto my cheeks during application.
So, when you use their eyeshadows, just make sure to finish the eye makeup before you apply your foundation :)

🍀

My eyebrows are filled with this waterproof slanted brow pencil by Marcelle.
I love this natural ashy tone.  This goes well with those with light coloured eyebrows.
The pencil part is like a crayon...waxy texture,  but soft so it is easy to apply.
It's flat enough and slanted, so the application is smooth, lines are defined and is
easy to shape your brows with.

I opted for this lighter ashy tone to tone down my black-haired brows for this look to help make the green eye makeup pop :)

🍀

The gold sparkles were added using this Marcelle Lux Diamond Liquid Liner.
It has a very fine tip applicator so you can create the finest line if you'd like.

For this look, I simply layered it over my lid.  It was a thick coat but didn't bleed out and the application was smooth.  It did take a little longer to dry due to its thickness (my bad!) but once dried, it was solid!  No sparkles fell or rubbed off onto my fingers when I touched it.

So pretty :) ♥︎

🍀

♥︎ I LOVE Kiss Falsies! ♥︎ I may have mentioned it before in my posts...but I must say it over and over...! :)
I LOVE KISS FALSIES!
I use them for all of my Brides.  They are made with natural hair, so easy to apply, light, soft and bendable and yet great for several applications.  Lashes comes in varieties of lengths, volume and shapes.  Love love love♥︎

I used this one for this look.  I wanted the length but not volume.  I wanted to show off the sparkled part of my lids through the lashes :)

🍀

I topped the falsies with this Makeup For Ever Mascara in black.  I didn't apply a lot though!  Again, I didn't want to add too much volume on the lashes.

🍀

The applicator is well....um....interesting?  (lack of a better word!)
Must be great for some...but not for my asian eyes!  It's so big!  Felt awkward and so hard to apply!

🍀

On my cheeks for contouring and adding some extra sun-kissed touch all over my face, I added this matte bronzer by Annabelle.  Annabelle is a sister-line of Marcelle.
♥︎Both proudly made from here, Montreal♥︎

🍀

For my lips for this look, I wanted a soft neutral touch that is not too pink, not too beige with a creamy texture and no shimmer, no matte.
I chose this one and it looks great!

It is a Marcelle lipstick in Attitude #702.
I like the fact that it has no taste! And no particular smell!
I am uber sensitive to smell...and when it comes to lipstick, I am even more so than anything!  I can easily get nauseous and even worse, get migraines from bad smelling lipsticks and ones with too much fragrance.

🍀

Happy Saint-Patrick's Day!  Another great reason to drink :)
lol
Hopefully it's more than that!  Like hang out with friends and family, spending some fun times together :)  Enjoy!

No More Mess! - Garnier BB Cream

Please!! ...No more MESS!!
Eeeeeehh...sob...I love you but ... why?!
aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!

♥︎

Okey, alright, let's calm down!
I apologize for MY messy behaviour :)

So, is it just with mine...or do others also have this Garnier BB Cream and have to deal with the same issue?
Does yours...ooze out like this?
⬇︎

You have to shake the tube just before each use, but by doing so, the liquid oozes out into the cap.
You, then, have to slowly turn the cap off hoping that it won't explode, run down your fingers and get it all over the bathroom counter...

So much oozes out that I don't even have to squeeze some onto my fingers...
I just wipe enough amount I need off of the tip of the tube onto my fingers and use that on my face.  And even then, there are still so much left on the tip and inside the cap.

♥︎Ladies and gents!♥︎
♥︎Young and old!♥︎
♥︎And everyone else in between!♥︎

I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!

♥︎Step one♥︎

Clean off as much as you can using a wet cloth, tissue paper, paper towel, q-tips...
whatever you need to clean that excess off!

♥︎Step Two♥︎

Get a sticker gem of your choice that is small enough to fit inside the cap.
I got this one from the Dollar store.
In Quebec, we have a chain called Dollorama and you can purchase this pack of gazillion sticker gems.

And look! ♥︎
One fits right inside the cap!
The key here,  is you have to have a gem that is not flat.  It has to be raised a bit in order to block the hole.
The problem with this BB Cream packaging is that there is a fine gap between the cap and the hole.  So this gem will fill in that gap, blocking the hole, thus preventing the cream to ooze out after each use:)

How easy was that!!

Now, if you do not have any gems or find any at your local dollar store or craft store...
I have not tried this yet, but essentially you can use whatever to "fill in that gap".
Some ideas I can suggest are...
sticky-tack, playdoh, thick foam tape or paper, paper towel...whatever you choose to use, simply cut them or shape them into the right size and place it inside the cap!

Hope this helps! ♥︎

Tribal Tattoo Eye Makeup using a cream liner

Tribal Tattoo Eye Makeup

♥︎ Hey guys! ♥︎

So, this is actually my second attempt in doing my eye makeup using this dark blue gel liner.  (for more details, please view my previous blog post)
I also used the same brush as I did for my first attempt.

The reason I decided to redo it all was because I did not like the end result...not the design I created, but how the liner looked.  It dried up cakey, cracky and uneven. The intensity in the colour was not great. I was disappointed to say the least because I loved the design!!  It was intricate and beautiful!  I will post a picture at the end of this blog :)

Though....., I did do something that I should not have...I layered a lot of concealer underneath as my base for the liner.  I think the thickness of the concealer didn't help the brush to have a better grip on my skin and made it crack....So yes, a thinner layer, perhaps, should have sufficed.

Hence, my second attempt!  I did not want to give it a bad review.  It deserved a second chance :)

So here's the liner down below.
It does look black but it is a dark midnight blue when applied.

Here is the liner as shown in my previous blog post.
The liner is great!  The bristles keeps it's form/shape and doesn't go all over the place.

How does it look? ♥︎

My lil' munchkin (age 7) told me:  " Mama, you look way too made up!"
- no kidding, Sweety!  I'm not gonna go out looking like this!  It's just for pictures :)

So, my comment after my second attempt:

- A thinner concealer DID HELP for the liner and the brush to glide on my face, hence a better application.  The liner does need an extra coating to bring out the colours and to "fill in" the edges but overall a much better result.  It dried up nicely, evenly and loved the whole look :)
It was very easy to remove as well!  A couple of eye makeup wipes and then a whole wash using a charcoal cleanser washed it all away without any irritation or scrubbing.

♥︎

Here's what I used on rest of my face.

Foundation is by Marcelle.  (Our local brand!)
I used #2 all over, concentrating mainly on my T-Zone.
I used #3 to contour top of forehead, under cheekbones and under my chin.

For the concealer, I used one of my faves which is this one by Cover FX.  It is one of my "Must-Haves" in my makeup kit for models & brides.  It has enough orange to cover up any blue undertones under eyes and to cover up any acne scars.  A little goes a long way :)

On my cheeks for more of a "tanned" look, I used this bronzer to bronze up my cheeks.  Also by Marcelle.

Here is one of my latest obsession!

It's a highlighting pencil by Marcelle.  It's got the pencil on one end and a sponge smudger on the other.
For this look, I used this pencil on top of my lid / under brows / top of brows / inner corner to add extra highlight.
This pencil goes on creamy but dries fast.  You've got enough time to use the sponge to smudge it all around to smooth any edges, and the result is POW-WOW!  Great on photos!
I have already used it on photoshoots and on my upcoming Brides.  They have it in several colours but this one is, by far, my fave!

A touch of red butter lip balm by NYX to tint-up my dried lips!
Review:  Moisturizing, easy to apply.  Does dry up on my lips after awhile but the colour stayed.  No terrible taste nor fragrance so that's a plus :)

♥︎

So here it is! ....Here's how it looked on my first attempt!
See how the colour is blotchy and you can see some cracks and unevenness on some areas.  I had fun with the design, tho! ♥︎
